SourceMedical is currently seeking a Sr. Software Developer for its Therapy Division in Birmingham:
Summary of Position: As a Senior Software developer, you will be a key member of the SourceMedical Product Development team with the overall responsibility for analyzing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting various features in both existing and new system modules. You will also be responsible for providing technical direction to other team members, interacting with the Product Management group to create/design software solutions, and providing support to other internal groups including Implementations, Support, QA, and Sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Design, develop, test, document and implement complex software applications · Evaluate, modify, and integrate existing large software applications · Responsible for becoming an application expert to other developers on the team from both a technical and functional perspective · Interact with business analysts in the design of new features and the creation of requirements documents · Work with Product Management to identify opportunities based on technical knowledge and industry trends · Maintains up-to-date knowledge on the latest technology, third party applications, open source, and industry standards · A wide degree of creativity and latitude expected · Other tasks as assigned by manager
Education/Qualifications: · B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field · 7+ years demonstrated experience with OOP, OOD, OOA · Expert level knowledge of MS Technologies, XML, UML, design patterns, and OOP/D/A along with a solid computer science foundation · Detailed knowledge of databases and database programming (SQL Server 2000/2005) · Experience with C++/COM a definite bonus · Excellent analytical and problem solving skills · Strong interpersonal communication skills, written and oral · Able to work independently on most aspects of work · Team player who is able to work in a dynamic team environment
